Calculator Luxe Privacy Policy

Calculator Luxe does not collect, transmit, or share any data. Everything you put into the app stays on your device. We have no servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no way to see what is inside your vault.

1. Information we collect

None. The app does not collect personal information, usage analytics, device identifiers, or any other data. We do not operate servers that receive data from the app, because the app does not make network requests.

Specifically, we do not collect:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or any account information — the app has no accounts and no sign-up.

  • Your passcode, duress code, or any derived cryptographic key.

  • The contents of your vault (photos, videos, audio, documents).

  • Crash reports, telemetry, or usage data.

  • Advertising identifiers or tracking cookies.

  • Location data.

2. What stays on your device

Everything you add to the app is stored locally in the app’s private container on your iPhone, encrypted with AES-GCM using a key derived from your passcode (iterated SHA-256 + HKDF). Only a non-reversible verifier is kept in the iOS Keychain so the app can tell if you typed the right passcode; your passcode itself is never stored.

Vault data is marked to be excluded from iCloud and iTunes device backups, so your private content does not sync to Apple’s servers as part of a device backup.

3. Permissions we request and why

All permissions are optional and are requested only when you take an action that needs them.

  • Camera — only requested if you enable “Photograph failed unlock attempts” in Settings. A silent front-camera photo is captured after the threshold you set is exceeded, and is stored only inside the app.

  • Microphone — only requested when you use the in-app voice recorder. Recordings are stored only inside the app.

  • Photo Library — only requested when you import photos or videos you select into the vault.

You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Calculator Luxe.

4. Third parties and tracking

The app contains no third-party SDKs for analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking. It does not share data with Apple beyond what Apple itself observes through the App Store distribution channel (e.g., anonymous download counts and crash logs you may voluntarily send via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements).

5. Children’s privacy

Calculator Luxe is rated 12+ on the App Store and is not directed at children under 13. Because we do not collect personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Security

Calculator Luxe uses Apple’s standard cryptography libraries (CryptoKit AES-GCM and the iOS Keychain) for on-device encryption. While we believe these are the right tools for protecting content from opportunistic access to your phone, no security system is unbreakable. This app is not marketed as protection against targeted attacks by nation-state adversaries or forensic recovery experts.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change this Privacy Policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Because the app makes no network requests, policy changes do not affect data already on your device — there is none to affect.
