We are a New York licensed provider of private investigation and security services. Based in the Hudson Valley of New York, we provide private clients with advanced capabilities that shatter perceptions of what private investigations and security “should be”.

  • We seek to redefine the standard of private investigators and security providers by fusing the capabilities of seasoned veterans from law enforcement, intelligence, and the military special operations community to deliver a higher caliber service our clients can depend on.

  • We believe in setting a standard. The private security space has become stagnant, due in large part to low industry standards. A state issued security license or PI license should be the bare minimum. Discerning individuals and institutional clients should have an option that rivals the capabilities of government assets.   • Salient Strategic was born from the concept of an on-call, high level element providing security, private intelligence, investigations, and risk advisory services to those who understand the value. We’ve built a trusted network of professionals with backgrounds spanning top law enforcement, intelligence, and military special operations units.

    As we scale our operations, we will stay true to our mission of only providing our best to those who appreciate what we offer. As such, we limit our services to clients and missions that meet our vision.

John - Founder & Principal

John fought in the Global War On Terror with the United States Marine Corps as a noncommissioned officer, breacher, assault team leader, and intelligence cell. After leaving active duty he joined the ranks of the New York Police Department, where he was a highly respected detective, and a member of multiple special operations teams. John concluded his service with a 3+ year deep-cover assignment infiltrating narco-trafficking organizations and developing criminal intelligence on suspected domestic extremists during extended periods of civil unrest.

After subsequent retirement, John founded Salient Strategic with the vision of fusing military, law enforcement, and intelligence capabilities into a single entity, shattering perceptions of the private sector and setting a new standard. He is Columbia educated, and continues to serve New York communities in his spare time.

Ray - Technology Director

Ray is another Columbia educated Marine combat veteran of the Global War On Terror, with experience fighting in Sangin, Afghanistan. A member of the Marine Reconnaissance community, Ray has proven himself time and again with his outside-the-box mindset and technical expertise. A believer that leaders belong at the front, Ray actively participates in investigative and security operations, often as an operational team member.

Ray has been instrumental in our success as a firm, and has proven himself time and again during critical situations. In addition to his contributions to our stated mission set, Ray is tasked with research, allowing Salient Strategic to stay at the forefront of emerging technologies.

Pat - Security Director

A highly decorated and respected special operator, Pat saw combat among the United States Army Special Forces in multiple theaters, including Iraq and Afghanistan. He has extensive experience operating covertly in non-permissive and semi-permissive areas, training and leading indigenous forces, and carrying out direct action raids.

Pat also served as a federal investigator and undercover, and has developed a wide range of skills that complement the Salient Strategic mission. He currently serves as the director of Salient Strategic’s Security Branch.

Due to the nature of his past and present assignments, Pat’s identity and likeness are not publicly disclosed.
